After the glitz, the glamor and fame of being in the spotlight begin to dim in their careers athletes discover what life is like after retirement, in their "First-Year Out".
"First-Year Out" is a sports-themed docu-series that will follow recently retired athletes as they try to adjust to life after the game is over. For most, retirement comes in their 60s, but for many of these athletes, retirement can come in their mid-30s. After retiring from a sport that they've played the majority of their lives, viewers will watch as these athletes adjust to waking up without having the daily workout routines, not having cameras follow them everywhere, living life without the grueling schedules, and the fanfare slowly starting to fade as they are no longer in the limelight. Whether they were forced to leave their sport through injury or father time catching up to them, many of these athletes struggle to find their new path.
